Will New York Times reveal its op-ed author?
US President Donald Trump has slammed The New York Times for its opinion piece published recently by an anonymous author, claiming that there is a ''resistance'' inside the White House administration.
According to the piece the ''resistance'' is working "from within" to thwart Trump's "worst inclinations".
Trump demanded that the NYT reveal the author's name based on national security concerns. He also posted a series of tweets, calling the possible insider info leaks a treason.
The writer of the Times op-ed said Trump aides are aware of the president's faults and "many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations. I would know. I am one of them."
"Many Trump appointees have vowed to do what we can to preserve our democratic institutions while thwarting Mr Trump's more misguided impulses until he is out of office," the author wrote.
