Will Brazils’ Senate approve Bolsonaro’s son’s nomination as ambassador to US?
Brazil’s president Jair Bolsonaro has nominated his son Eduardo, a congressman who heads the foreign affairs committee in the lower house, as an ambassador to the United States. Bolsonaro also said that Trump had approved that nomination, describing it as "a great appointment".
After that Brazilian prosecutors filled an injunction to a federal court to rule on the experience needed for anyone to serve as a diplomat. Opposition lawmakers have also asked Supreme Court to block Eduardo Bolsonaro appointment, calling it nepotism.
This appointment still requires approval from Brazil’s Senate.
